The Pomegranate 2011
Plot Synopsis
The Pomegranate tells the story of a woman; seeking her own justice. The Pomegranate questions the justice of four people with different beliefs in a house, in half a day and in their own realms of faith. Asuman is a fortune-teller with uncanny psychic powers who lives in the suburbs of Istanbul but tells fortunes of the rich at their own luxurious places. One morning, she goes to a house that lies in an extremely luxurious district to tell fortune. It is the house of a famous doctor; Sema where Asuman is met by a young woman. Asuman starts Turkish coffee fortunetelling. It begins as fun but gets weird later on; turning into a personal attack. Asuman is not an ordinary fortune teller. Her granddaughter had died in the hospital Sema works for and Asuman is there to avenge. She takes the young woman as a prisoner. Asuman believes that she knows and sees everything with her psychic powers. However, the young woman she captured is not Doctor Sema as she assume. The story turns into a harsh and surprising settling of accounts on both personal and social levels when The Doorkeeper of the building and the real Dr. Sema joins.
